Emory University junior Christina Watson was named the University Athletic Association Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week as announced late Monday afternoon.

Watson helped the Eagles to a doubleheader sweep of Sewanee Saturday afternoon as the team returned to competition. Watson went 2-0 at the second singles position, winning both matches in straight sets: 6-3, 6-4 and 6-2, 6-1. In doubles, Watson teamed with Stephanie Taylor to post a pair of wins. In the first match, the duo were 8-3 winners on the second line before moving to court one in the second match, where they posted an 8-5 decision.

Emory is scheduled to be off this weekend before returning to action in April with a match at Georgia Southern on Sunday, April 4th.
