The Emory University Track and Field teams saw five student-athletes capture All-America honors as the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships concluded Saturday afternoon in Geneva, Ohio.
The Women's 4x100m Relay team featuring sophomores Dilys Osei, Dani Bland, Ariana Newhouse and junior Julia Leventhal finished in the fifth place in a time of 47.21. They are just the fourth women's 4x100m Relay team to earn outdoor All-America honors in program history and the first since 2014.
Junior Gabrielle Stravach became the first Emory women to earn All-America kudos in the 1500m Run as she recorded a school-record time of 4:27.45 to place fifth overall.
Bland added individual All-America acclaim in the 100m Dash as she finished in sixth place, crossing the finish line with a time of 11.87. She is just the fourth female to earn All-America honors in the 100m Dash, joining Regina Robinson, Jane Ukandu and Debora Adjibaba. Bland later added a ninth place showing in the 200m Dash, posting a time of 24.52.
Junior Shane Sullivan was also in action on Saturday as he competed for the men's team in the 5000m Run. Sullivan turned in a 14th place effort, running a time of 15:00.27.
The Emory women scored 11 total points over the three-day stretch to finish tied for 24th in the team standings.
