Women's Track & Field Wins Seven Events on Sunday; Finish Third at UAA Outdoor Championships

The Emory University Women's Track and Field team won seven event championships and recorded 11 All-UAA finishes Sunday afternoon to place third overall in the team standings at the University Athletic Association Outdoor Championships in Pittsburgh, PA.

The Eagles finished the two-day meet with seven titles and 13 All-UAA honors, scoring 163.50 team points. Washington University won the team title with 235.50 points and Chicago was second with 174.

Emory captured event titles in six of the 10 running events contested on Sunday with junior Dani Bland winning a pair of individual titles. Bland won her second career outdoor 100m Dash crown with a winning time of 12.45 and added top honors in the 200m Dash at 26.13. Senior Erica Goldman was crowned the 400m Dash champion for the first time in her career with a time of 56.63 and junior Dilys Osei added an individual title in the 400m Hurdles at 1:03.42.

Bland and Osei were also part of both sprint relays that won gold on Sunday for Emory. The 4x100m Relay of Osei, Bland, senior Julia Leventhal and freshman Rebekah Bondi crossed the finish line first with a time of 48.01 and in the 4x400m Relay, Osei, Bland, Goldman and sophomore Kaitlyn Leonard paced the field with a time of 3:52.73.

Freshman Taylor Robinson rounded out the Emory winners on the afternoon as she posted a personal best mark of 39.71m to win the javelin event.

The Eagles also turned in four second place finishes on day two of competition with senior Gabrielle Stravach posting a time of 4:47.00 in the 1500m Run, Osei in the 100m Hurdles at 15.12, Bondi in the 100m Dash at 12.80 and freshman Leelah Wilburn in the discus with a PR of 39.03m.
