Junior Dani Bland was named the University Athletic Association's Athlete of the Week after helping the Emory University Women's Track and Field team to a fifth place finish at the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships this past weekend in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Bland was the national runner-up in the 100m Dash (11.97) and was third in the 200m Dash (24.66) to capture individual All-America honors. She added All-America acclaim as a member of both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays, helping both relays to top-four finishes. She ran the third leg in the 4x400m as Emory finished as the national runners-up, helping the Eagles run the 11th fastest time in Division III history at 3:42.97. She ran the second leg as a member of Emory's 4x100m relay, which placed fourth with a time of 47.04.
The four All-America awards at a single NCAA meet were the most by an Eagle in program history and pushed her career All-America total to eight, the most by a student-athlete in Emory Track and Field history.
