Emory University senior Ariana Newhouse was named the University Athletic Association Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week. It is the first time in her career she has earned the weekly honor.
Newhouse highlighted the Eagles at the BSC Indoor Icebreaker on Friday, placing 10th overall (best non DI finish) with a time of 58.86 in the 400m Dash and finished 18th overall (2nd best DIII finish) in the 200m Dash with a time of 25.80. As of Monday afternoon, she currently ranks in the top-five nationally in both events, sitting second in the 400m (1st in UAA) and fourth in the 200m (2nd in UAA).
Emory Track and Field returns to competition in the new year with the UAB Vulcan Invitational on January 12th.
