Women's Track & Field Wins Tiger Indoor Invitational

Behind four event wins the Emory University Women's Track and Field team finished first among eight teams at Saturday's Tiger Indoor Invitational at the University of the South in Sewanee, TN. The Eagles scored 149 points as a unit, edging out Mississippi College which finished second with 128 points.

Emory shined in the field events at the meet with all four event wins coming away from the track. Junior Isabel Saridakis claimed the top spot in the pole vault with a season-best height of 3.50m, just .02m shy of her school record mark. In the high jump, senior Jordan Small matched her career best at 1.60m and in the throws, senior Kora Dreffs posted a distance of 11.27m in the shot put and junior Kemdi Okafor set a new personal record in the weight throw at 13.39m.

Junior Amy Hunter recorded a second place showing in the triple jump at 10.73m with senior Gracie Potokar (10.63m) and sophomore Andi Breitowich (3.20m) adding third place performances in the shot put and pole vault.

In the track events, the Eagles saw five more top-three finishes with sophomore Ana Sofia Beltran (9.70) and freshman Brittney Haney (9.97) finishing second and third in the 55m Hurdles finals, freshman Bella Racette clocking in at 5:45.11 to take third in the mile and sophomore Amanda Li running a 11:49.42 to take bronze in the 3000m Run.

Emory closed out the meet with both 4x400m Relay teams placing inside the top-three with the A group of Beltran, Haney, sophomore Michelle Rosenblum and freshman Belle Brown finishing second at 4:28.73 and the B unit of sophomores Ayla Kazemi, Ana Morris, Olivia Hoekendijk and Lauren Rodriguez placed third at 4:44.52.

The Eagles mark the return trek to the Birmingham Crossplex next weekend for the Samford Open.
