Women's Track & Field Take Part in Auburn and Georgia Southern Invitationals

The Emory University Women's Track and Field team sent representatives to both Georgia Southern and Auburn University this past weekend as the team continued its outdoor season. There was no team scoring at either meet.

At Auburn, senior Kayla O'Shea ran a pair of season-best marks, placing fourth in the 1500m Run at 4:42.12 and 17th in the 800m Run at 2:22.16. Freshman Hannah Lansberry posted team-leading 59.44 in the 400m Dash while senior Dilys Osei ran a season-best 1:03.39 to finish fifth in the 400m Hurdles.

In the distance events, senior Paige Lesslauer took 10th in the 3000m Run with a time of 10:39.96 with sophomore Carrie McIntyre ran a 17:46.75 to place eighth in the 5000m Run.

Osei also ran the lead off leg in the 4x100m Relay as she, senior Dani Bland and sophomores Michelle Rosenblum and Rebekah Bondi turned in a season-best mark of 47.30, which ranks third among the Division III ranks.

Senior Paris Wagner recorded a distance of 47.13 in the hammer throw and in the javelin, sophomore Taylor Robinson had a distance of 34.06.

Wagner competed at Georgia Southern as well, coming in second in the discus at 35.33m. Classmate Katie Chang won the triple jump at 10.41m while freshman Ashling Devins was second in both the 1500m Run (5:03.60) and 5000m Run (19:51.36).

Next up for the Eagles will be the Berry Field Day Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Rome, GA.
