Women's Track & Field Notches Four Event Wins to Finish First at Berry Field Day Invite

The Emory University women's track and field team finished first among 18 schools at the Berry Field Day Invitational over the weekend, winning four events and scoring 137.2 team points.

In the field events, senior Paris Wagner was a two-time winner in Rome, posting season best marks of 37.46m and 49.63m in the discus and hammer events. Over in the pole vault, junior Isabel Saridakis topped her school record for the second time this spring, winning the event with a height of 3.80m which moved her into sixth nationally.

Senior Dani Bland turned in a season-best time as she took the top spot in the 200m Dash of 24.60 (2nd among DIII qualifiers) and was part of the 4x100m Relay with senior Dilys Osei and sophomores Michelle Rosenblum and Rebekah Bondi that finished second at 48.28.

Osei had two top-four finishes in the hurdles, placing third in the 400m with a season-best time of 1:02.10 (2nd fastest nationally) and was fourth in the 100m at 15.48. Classmate Kayla O'Shea shaved close to three seconds off her season best time in the 800m Run, finishing second with a time of 2:19.14.

Other top finishes for the Eagles was the 4x400m Relay of Rosenblum, senior Ariana Newhouse and freshmen Hannah Lansberry and Belle Brown (2nd, 4:04.05), Bland in the 100m Dash (4th, 12.23), Lansberry in the 400m Dash (5th, 59.83), sophomore Christina Dwier in the 3000m Steeplechase (5th, 12:55.41), sophomore Taylor Robinson in the javelin (3rd, 38.09m) and Bondi in the long jump (4th, 5.15m).

The Eagles will be at Sewanee and Georgia Tech next weekend before competing in the UAA Championships on April 27th and 28th.
