Track & Field Garners 28 USTFCCCA All-Region Selections

The Emory University Track and Field programs earned a combined 28 South/Southeast All-Region indoor track & field selections as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) earlier this week.

To be named All-Region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top-5 of an individual event in the region according to final TFRRS data or be part of a top-3 relay team. The organization first began recognizing All-Region award winners in 2016.

The women's team, which finished the season as the top-ranked team in the USTFCCCA South/Southeast regional rankings, earned 18 South/Southeast All-Region honors. NCAA-bound junior Rebekah Bondi lead the way with three All-Region selections, while sophomore Hannah Lansberry and freshman Abby Baisley each earned two All-Region honors. Bondi was recognized as an All-Region athlete on the track and in the field, as she was the top South/Southeast performer in both the 60m Dash and the 200m Dash, and captured an additional accolade for her efforts in the Long Jump. Lansberry and Baisley both drew attention for their work on the 4x400 Relay Team that was the best in the South/Southeast. That squad included junior Michelle Rosenblum and freshman Claire Evans, as well. Baisley picked up her second All-Region nod as a member of the Distance Medley Relay team that featured freshman Shana Fitzmaurice, junior Anna Morris, and junior Rachel Shanahan, and was the fastest in the region. Lansberry's second All-Region award was as an individual in the 400m Dash.

Joining Bondi in competing in the NCAA DIII Indoor National Championships and on the list of All-Region honorees is senior Isabel Saridakis and junior Laura Shecker. Saridakis, Sheckter, and Bondi will all be in Winston-Salem, NC this weekend, where the National Championships will take place at the JDL FastTrack on Friday and Saturday, (Mar. 13-14th). Saridakis and Sheckter had the best marks amongst South/Southeast competitors in the Pole Vault and Shot Put, respectively.

On the men's side, the Eagles garnered 10 All-Region selections with sophomore Spencer Moore pacing his team with two selections. Sohpmores Jon Marcus, am McGuire, Lucas Werner, and Moore all found themselves on the All-Region list as a result of their production on the Distance Medley Relay team. Moore's performance in the 1 Mile Run allowed him to collect a second selection. Junior John Cox was the top region performer in the 5000m Run.
