2020 USTFCCCA Indoor Track & Field All-Americans
The Emory University women's track & field team saw three members earn All-American indoor honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Tuesday afternoon.
Due to the cancelation of the 2020 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, the USTFCCCA awarded indoor All-American status using the following criteria:
- Based on the selected participants for the national championships initially announced by the NCAA on Sunday, March 8, the following will be recognized as All-America for the 2020 Indoor Track & Field season:
- Individual events: ALL student-athletes declared and initially accepted into their event.
- Relay events: Members of ALL relays who produced the performance that was declared and initially accepted into their event.
Eagles earning All-America honors were senior Isabel Saridakis in the pole vault, junior Laura Sheckter in the shot put and junior Rebekah Bondi in the 60m Dash.
The All-America selections mark the first career indoor honor for all three student-athletes. Saridakis was slated as 12th-best qualifier with her school-record mark of 3.75m. In the shot put, Sheckter was the 10th-highest competitor in the event, entering with her Emory indoor record of 13.91m. For the 60m, Bondi was positioned 13th overall with her season-best time of 7.70, the fifth-fastest time ever in Emory history.
The 2020 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships were canceled on March 12th due to COVID-19.
