** How did you start getting involved with track & field? How old were you when you started competing?

When I was little, I did a bunch of summer track camps and then started competing in meets in 7th grade.

** Do you have any plans for after graduation?

I will be joining the corps for Teach for America in Memphis where I will be teaching Elementary Education.

** What is one piece of advice you would give to your freshman self?

One piece of advice I would give my freshman self would be to have confidence in my abilities and to embrace and enjoy even the small moments.

** Which Emory faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why?

Dr. Dilks, my advisor, has been so helpful throughout my time at Emory. He has given me such great advice and his Cognition class was my favorite Psych class that I've taken. I also have to say that my coach, Derek Nelson, has had a huge impact on me as well because he is always pushing me to be a better athlete even when I complain.

** What is one class would you retake just for fun and why?

Math 212: Linear Algebra- this was my favorite math class I took at Emory. Algebra is my favorite topic in math, and I really enjoy solving problems with matrices.

** What is the most unique thing about your hometown?

My hometown is Somers, New York, which is considered the birthplace of the American circus.

** What is something that people may not know about you but should?

I am a huge bagel snob. Unfortunately, the bagels in the south are just not good.

** Other than the sport(s) you play, what is another one you think you could play at a high level?

Soccer! I played travel soccer for about 10 years!

** What is one professional athlete (past or present) would you like to have a conversation with and why?

I would love to have a conversation with Allyson Felix because I have always looked up to her and she has been such a great female role model standing up for the rights that female athletes deserve and showing how she can continue her running career while being a mom. I would love to talk to her about how being a mom has impacted her track career.

** How have you been trying to occupy your time with given the current COVID environment?

I have been reading a lot! Also, I have enjoyed finding new places to go for a hike.

** Food you hate that everybody else seems to enjoy?

Sushi

** What would you say are your top three movies or television shows of all time?

  1. This is Us 2. Money Heist 3. Friends

** What is your favorite thing to do around Atlanta?

I love trying new restaurants in Atlanta and walking on the beltline.

** What has been your most memorable moment during competition during your Eagles career?

Winning the 4x4 when we hosted outdoor UAAs at Emory my sophomore year. It was the last event of the meet, we were all super tired, and all of our teammates and even alumni who came were cheering so hard for us. It was such a great feeling winning that race.

** What is your favorite Atlanta restaurant?

Parker's on Ponce

** Favorite non-athletic moment from your past few years at Emory?

I went on a study abroad trip to Galway and London the summer after my sophomore year which was so much fun. I am so grateful for that experience.

** Favorite team tradition/activity?

Whenever someone on the team PRs, they get to wear our team PR chain which is a giant gold chain with a big eagle on it. This tradition only started last year, but it's a fun way to make everyone feel good about running a PR.

** What would be one thing you'd like to impart to the underclassmen before finishing your career?

Take advantage of the time you have with your teammates. They are the best people to support you on and off the track.
