Bella Racette & Annika Urban Win Events at Augustana Midwest Twilight Meet

On the eve before the selections to the NCAA Championships are announced, Emory University women's track & field members Annika Urban and Bella Racette raced once more to try and improve their qualifying positions with both runners winning their respective events at the Augustana Midwest Twilight meet in Rock Island, IL.

In the 1500m run, Urban dominated the competition as she outpaced the field of 27 runners with her winning time of 4:34.48. Her time is a new personal best and moves her 22nd nationally in the event.

In the 3000m steeplechase, Racette shaved 26 seconds off her previous PR as she clocked in at 11:03.40 and overtook Central's Caroline McMartin in the homestretch to finish first in the field of 16 runners. With her new personal best, Racette's time moves her to 22nd nationally and in good position to qualify for NCAAs.

The NCAA Championships selections will be announced on NCAA.com tomorrow, May 20th, with the national meet taking place next weekend, May 26-28, at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, OH.
