Sophomore Karissa Dzurik helped the Eagles' Volleyball Team to a 3-1 season-opening record, with the squad hosting the Emory Classic.

She then paced the club with 11 kills in a 3-0 decision over No. 25 UW-Oshkosh. On the final day of action, she pounded out a match-best 14 successful attack attempts and hit a solid .462 (14-2--26) as Emory prevailed over St. Mary's College by a 3-0 count. In the final match of the weekend, Dzurik totaled 15 kills and contributed 13 digs in a five-set battle vs. the College of Saint Benedict. Dzurik now claims 17 career matches of 10 or more kills.
Emory returns to action, Sept. 9-10, when it competes at the Cal Lu Fornia Invitational.
