Sophomore Sara Carr was named Most Outstanding Player at the NCAA D-III Volleyball Atlanta Regional, where she helped the Eagles to a championship effort.

Carr averaged a team-high 3.33 kills over nine sets of action and wound up the weekend hitting a solid .316 (30-5--79). In addition, she was second on the squad in digs with a 3.33 per-set average.

In a 3-0 decision over Worcester in the quarterfinals, Carr was second on the team with 10 terminations and chipped in 10 digs and three service aces. She followed that effort with a nine-kills, 12-digs effort in a 3-0 triumph against No. 21 Christopher Newport. In the Regional final, a 3-0 decision over Berry College, Carr led all players with 11 kills, her 21st double-digit performance of the season, hit .435 (11-1--23), totaled eight digs and dished out a pair of aces.

Carr's effort helped Emory advance to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championships where it will battle No. 7 Ithaca on Thursday (Nov. 16).
