Sophomore Elyse Thompson came through with stellar defensive play in helping the Emory volleyball team to a 3-1 record.
The 5-foot-7 Thompson played in all 13 sets over the four matches and averaged a team-high 4.69 digs per set. She paced the squad in that category in three contests including the UAA Round Robin I finale vs. No. 25 Chicago when she paced all players with 29, her fifth performance of 20 or more this season.
Through matches played Oct. 1, Thompson stands second among UAA players in digs average (5.2 dps).
