Announcing Icon Phil Bush To Pick Up Selected Emory Volleyball Webcasts

Phil Bush, regarded as one of the premier broadcasters on the professional and collegiate levels, will provide play-by-play for select Emory volleyball matches for the remainder of the 2017 campaign.

Bush showcased his passion for broadcasting and the sport of volleyball when he oversaw the event production at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He subsequently was hired as the first sports producer by the Atlanta Organizing Committee, who commented that Bush's performance was "a model for future international competitions."

Bush spent 17 seasons working for Fox SportsNet South, ESPNU, Comcast, Sun Sports and a variety of internet broadcasts. He handled both play-by-play and color analysis on volleyball broadcasts for the Southeastern Conference, Atlantic Coast Conference, Conference USA, the Sun Belt Conference and the NCAA Tournament.

"Without a doubt, Phil Bush is one of the most respected volleyball minds in the country," stated Emory head coach Jenny McDowell.  "His insights and expertise provides fans and viewers a unique way of watching a match.  We are fortunate to have such a renowned figure in the broadcast industry join us as an announcer for Emory volleyball."

Bush served as one of the Voices of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) to provide play-by-play for the FIVB "Match of the Week," as part of the Men's Premiere Indoor Tourney World League, the $6 million competition pitting the top 16 teams in the world against each other.  He has lived in Germany and England, as well as working in a total of 22 countries including: Japan, Korea, Singapore, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, France, Italy and Denmark.

A graduate of Georgia Tech, he handled sideline reporting duties for the GTU Football Newtwork and was involved in the Wramblin' Wreck Basketball Network for over five years.
