Senior outside hitter Karissa Dzurik led the Emory volleyball team to a first-place effort at the University Athletic Association Championships.

The 5-foot-11 Dzurik played all nine of the team's sets and topped all players with a 4.56 kills-per-game average. She produced match highs in kills in all three matches and closed out the weekend with a solid .294 attack percentage (41-11--102).

After totaling 12 terminations in a sweep of Brandeis in the quarterfinals, Karissa pounded out 15 successful attack attempts, hitting .314 (15-4--35) in the process, while also chipping in two block assists, in a semifinal victory over Carnegie Mellon. In the title showdown against No. 10-ranked Chicago, Dzurik hit a match-high .371 on the strength of a match-best 14 kills with just one error in 35 attempts, while also contributing three block assists.

So far this season Dzurik, who owns 21 matches of double-figure kills, ranks sixth among UAA players in kills average (3.22 kps).
