Senior middle Sydney Leimbach helped the No. 8-ranked Eagles' volleyball team to a 3-1 mark at the Emory National Invitational.

The 6-foot-2 Leimbach closed out the weekend as the team's most efficient attacker, registering a hitting mark of .452 (34-6--62), while also leading the club with an average of 0.77 blocks per set. She played in all 13 sets over the four matches averaged 2.62 kills per game, good for second on the squad.

In a 3-0 decision over Washington and Lee, she led all players with eight terminations and chalked up a .538 (8-1--13) attack percentage. In addition, she chipped in three total blocks as Emory held the Generals to a -.025 hitting effort.  In the finale of the Invitational against Birmingham Southern, Sydney spearheaded the Emory attack with a season-high 13 kills and hit a blazing .600 (13-1--20). She also tied for match honors with four (2-2) total blocks, her 15th outing this year of three or more blocks.

Entering the upcoming UAA Championships, Leimbach leads the team and is fourth among UAA players in blocks average (0.97 bps).
