Finn Wilkins Earns UAA Volleyball Honor

Finn Wilkins Earns UAA Volleyball Honor

Emory University sophomore Finn Wilkins (Scottsdale, AZ) has been named by the University Athletic Association as the Volleyball Defensive/Setter Co-Player of the Week following her performance at the Emory National Tournament.  It is the first time in her career that she has been selected for the honor.

The 6-foot-2 Wilkins played a key defensive role in helping the No. 8-ranked Eagles to a 5-0 record at the Emory Volleyball National Tournament, seeing action in 13 of the team's 16 sets and averaging a team-high 1.62 blocks per game as the Eagles raised their record to 7-1. Wilkins' play was a key factor in limiting the five opponents to a combined .093 attack percentage.

Wilkins led or shared for the team lead in blocks in three contests including a career-high six-blocks (1-5) effort in a sweep of Transylvania. She tied that mark against Otterbein, coming through with one block solo and five block assists. In the finale against Tufts, she paced the Eagles with five blocks (0-5) and also contributed a match-best 11 kills, which represented a career high.

So far this season, Finn has played in 17 of the team's 26 sets and paces the club with an average of 1.59 blocks per game.
