Emory Volleyball All-American Mady Arles To Be Featured In Sports Illustrated's Faces In The Crowd

Emory University volleyball All-American Mady Arles (Richmond, VA) will be recognized in the upcoming edition of Sports Illustrated's Faces In the Crowd.

Arles captured numerous honors at her setter position during her final season with the program, which saw the Eagles play to the NCAA D-III national title.  Arles was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Championships after averaging 10.8 assists, 1.7 digs and 0.60 blocks over 10 sets of action as Emory defeated No. 25 Ithaca in the quarterfinals, No. 6 Juniata in the semifinals and No. 1 Calvin in the title match. In addition, she closed out the Championships hitting .357 (11-1--28) while doling out five service aces.  In the championship encounter against top-ranked Calvin, she doled out 35 assists, helping Emory hit .364, and contributed five kills, three aces and five digs in a 3-0 victory over the Knights.

A First Team All-American, Arles was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Mount Berry Regional, and was also tabbed to the All-University Athletic Association First Team. She ended the campaign second among UAA players and 15th in the D-III ranks with an average of 10.71 assists per set.  Career-wise, she totaled 2,233 assists, good for eighth place on Emory's all-time list.

Emory finished the season with an overall ledger of 30-6.
