Junior Leah Saunders helped the No. 1-ranked Emory volleyball team to a key South Region win over Birmingham Southern.
In a 3-1 verdict over the Panthers, the 5-foot-8 Saunders turned in all-around performance, chalking up her fourth double-double of the campaign with a match-high 20 kills, hitting . 395 in the process, and 12 digs. Her kills total represented her fifth straight and ninth outing of the season with double-figure terminations, as well as her third-highest career mark.
So far this season, Leah leads the UAA with a 3.31 kills-per-set average.
