Emory Volleyball Selected to NCAA Tournament; Will Host Regional Beginning Thursday

It was announced on Monday afternoon that Emory's volleyball team will be hosting one of eight NCAA regional tournaments with the Eagles earning an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.

The No. 14 ranked Eagles (23-5) will face off against Southern Virginia (28-4) in the first round of the NCAA tournament at 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 11th at the WoodPEC. This will be the third time the Eagles and Knights have matched up, with the Eagles sporting a record of 2-0, most recently defeating Southern Virginia by a score of 3-0 on September 11, 2009. The top ranked team in the region is No. 12 ranked Berry (25-2) who match up against Transylvania (23-12) in the first round. The other teams in attendance are No. 16 ranked Southwestern (24-5), Washington & Lee (26-7), Christopher Newport (22-9) and UT Dallas (17-9).The championship match will be played at 7:00 PM on Saturday evening the winner of which will earn a spot in NCAA DIII Championships in St. Louis, MO.

This marks Emory's 25th consecutive appearance in the NCAA tournament and Head Coach Jenny McDowell has been at the helm for all 25. To see the entire field of 64-teams, please click here.
