Senior Kaylee Slade helped the 19th-ranked Emory women's cross country team to a first-place finish at the NCAA South/Southeast Region Championships.

Slade led the Emory contingent for the sixth time in as many outings this season, clocking a 6K time of 22:55 that placed seventh overall out of 237 entries. Her performance at nationals enabled her to capture all-region recognition for the second straight season.

Emory's first-place effort enabled it to secure an automatic spot in the NCAA D-III Championships on Saturday, Nov. 17, in Winneconne, Wisconsin.
