Senior Annika Urban earned UAA Athlete of the Week honors for a sixth time this season after she put a cap on a tremendous cross country season this past weekend at the NCAA Championships.
Competing on a snow-covered course in Lansing, Michigan, Urban ended her season with All-America honors as she finished sixth overall in a field of 292 runners with a time of 22:09.2. It marks the second straight season Urban has raced to All-America honors after finishing 12th at the 2021 NCAA Championships.
Her sixth place finish in 2022 is the second-highest finish by an Eagle at the NCAA Championships in program history, joining Vista Beasley who finished third at the 1997 championships. Urban also joins Sarah Byrd (2000 & 2001) as the only two-time All-Americans in Emory women's cross country history.
The Eagles finished 25th at the NCAA Championships, recording 584 points as a team.
