The Eagles Weekly Preview for November 4th – 10th. This preview is to serve as a weekly snapshot of all upcoming events for Emory athletic events for the coming week.

 

Volleyball

The No.-2 ranked volleyball program brings its seven-game winning streak to Chicago this weekend as the team looks to defend its University Athletic Association championship. The Eagles (26-2), seeded No.-2 in this year’s tournament, open with No.-7 seeded Brandeis University (4-20) at 1:00 PM EST on Friday. The semifinals are set to follow at 5:00 PM EST.

Swimming & Diving

The swimming and diving teams return to the pool as they host the Emory Fall Invitational at the WoodPEC. Emory will be one of three teams competing at this year’s invitational along with Carson-Newman and Wingate. Diving kicks off the two-day meet at 4:15 PM Friday afternoon with session one of the swimming events to follow at 6:00 PM. The meet concludes Saturday morning at 11:00 AM with session two of swimming.

Women’s Soccer

The red-hot women’s soccer team, winners of a season-high five games, heads into the final regular season weekend to face the University of Rochester (9-5-2, 1-4-1 UAA) in the finale at 11:00 AM on Saturday. The Eagles (12-4, 4-2 UAA) enter Saturday’s match with a five-game shutout streak, the longest streak for the team since the 2014 season.

Prior to the start of the match, Emory will honor its seniors: Shivani Beall, Morgan Brandewie, Caroline Kolski, Haley Pratt and Paige Santee with an on-field ceremony.

Men’s Soccer

Coming off a 1-0-1 weekend against Brandeis and NYU to improve to 9-5-3 (2-2-2 UAA), the men’s soccer team entertains the University of Rochester (11-5, 3-3 UAA) in the regular season finale Saturday afternoon at the WoodPEC.

Prior to the start of the match at 1:30 PM, the Eagles will honor their seniors: Corey Levine, Keegan McCombie, William Jones, Trevor Stormes, Jimmy Tricolli and Jun Tsuru with an on-field ceremony.

Men’s Basketball

The men’s basketball team, ranked No.-6 in the D3hoops.com preseason poll, opens the 2019-20 season with a top-20 showdown at No.-19 Guilford College Saturday afternoon in Greensboro, NC. The Eagles return 10 from last year’s squad that set a program single-season record with an average of 92.9 points per game and qualified for the NCAA tournament for the seventh consecutive season.
