Emory Athletics 2021 Fall Fan And Team Policy

With its teams preparing for what promises to be an exciting 2021-22 season, the Emory Athletic department welcomes back the return of fans to its venues this fall.

The past 18 months has presented many challenges to us all and we offer a sincere thank you for your patience and support in our efforts to navigate back to normalcy, which includes something that all student-athletes relish – COMPETITION.

With that in mind, Emory Athletics would like to provide those attending events at our venues some tips and guidelines to be followed.  The policies below align with that of the University and are subject to change.

Outdoor Masking Policy

  • Masks are not required outdoors on campus, but unvaccinated individuals are advised to wear masks when physical distancing cannot be maintained.

Indoor Masking Policy

  • Masks (over nose and mouth) are required for all fans, regardless of vaccination status, in all indoor public and common spaces on campus unless actively eating and drinking.
  • Gaiters, bandanas, and any masks with valves are not permitted.
  • Face shields are permitted but must be worn in addition to a mask.
  • Masking for student-athletes when competing in indoor settings is optional only when student-athletes are in the act of practicing or competing, and that masks would be enforced in all other settings (i.e. on the bench, locker rooms, etc.). Coaches and support staff will still be required to mask at all times indoors.

More details about Emory's COVID-19 visitor policies can be found here.

Sports Medicine

  • Each student-athlete should bring their own water bottle. There will be access to water.
  • Student-athletes needing services from the home athletic trainer must wear a mask at all times and provide a list of services needed prior to competition.
  • Any visiting student-athlete needing services will be seen in an alternate location and not in the main athletic training room.
