Emory Strength & Conditioning

Emory University is committed to helping its student-athletes maximize their athletics potential while decreasing the chance for injury. To that end, the University employs a full-time strength and conditioning coach. The S&C Coach works with each varsity coach to develop sport-specific, year-round training plans.

The principles of the strength and conditioning program is built around these four statements:

  • Perform exercises with your feet on the ground
  • Perform exercises with free weights
  • Perform exercises that use multiple muscle groups that surround multiple joints
  • Perform exercises with explosion, if you want to be an explosive athlete

Emory's Interim S&C Coach is Drew Williams, who originally joined the Emory strength and conditioning staff as a graduate assistant coach in the fall of 2016 while obtaining his Master's Degree in Sports Administration from Georgia State University.

Drew received his Bachelor’s Degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Central Florida. He started at UCF as an intern/volunteer and quickly became a part-time Strength and Conditioning Assistant Coach, working with football, track and field, cross country, rowing and cheer.

Williams is CSCS, CPR and AED certified.
