Operations and Facilities

The primary function of the Operations and Facilities Graduate Assistant at the Student Activity and Academic Center (SAAC) is to coordinate front desk operations, assist with student staff training and scheduling, and customer service. The Operations and Facilities Graduate Assistant will plan, organize and execute day to day operation duties for a facility aimed at approximately 1500 undergraduate students, 14 university guests, four faculty members who are residence on our campus, and approximately 3000 members of the SAAC which is made up of families and children. Fitness and Wellness

This multi-faceted position includes assisting in day to day operations of group fitness, personal training, wellness events, special event planning, program marketing and hiring, training and supervision of fitness floor student staff. This is a paid assistantship that includes a tuition waiver to Georgia State University. Priority consideration to applications received by January 15, 2018. Deadline for applications to Georgia State University’s M.S. in Exercise Science program is February 1, 2018.

Events and Marketing

The graduate assistant will work with event management, marketing and game day promotions throughout the appointment. In addition, the graduate assistant will work on special projects with the Assistant Director of Athletics as well as the Assistant Director of Development for Athletics. Involvement in projects related to areas of event management, operations, marketing and development will give the graduate assistant a varied experience that will involve a high level of interaction with the administrative staff as well as with the individual sport programs and coaches.

Equipment and Operations

The Equipment and Operations Graduate Assistant assists in managing uniforms for Emory’s 18 varsity teams. This includes inventory, laundering, and communicating with the assistant coaches regarding game day uniform needs. Additionally, the graduate assistant assists with the hiring, training, and supervision of the building staff at Emory’s Woodruff P.E. Center. This involves building relationships, ensuring job duties are performed, leading monthly meetings, and updating policies, as needed. The successful candidate will need to have excellent customer service skills and respond to concerns with the facility.
