Three Eagles Honored as UAA Athletes of the Week

Three Emory University student-athletes were named Athletes of the Week by the University Athletic Association Monday afternoon.

Junior Jack Masonis from the baseball program was tabbed as UAA Hitter of the Week for the second time in his career while men's golf senior Nick Paschetto and men's track & field graduate student Maxwell Prizant each earned their first UAA Athlete of the Week honor as an Eagle.

Paschetto finished in a tie for fifth-place at the shortened Shorter Hawk Invitational with a one round score of 72. The remainder of the tournament was canceled for inclement weather which saw Paschetto finish the tournament with an even score on the par-72 course in Rome, GA.

Masonis helped the Eagles to a four-game sweep at WashU this past weekend. Masonis had a hit in every game as he went 6-for-14 with three extra base hits (2 3Bs, 1 HR) and drove in a team-leading six runs. He collected a total of five RBI on Saturday as Emory took the first two games of the series.

Prizant matched his personal best height of 4.35m in the pole vault at the Lee Flames Invitational this past weekend in Cleveland, TN. Prizant's height currently as him seated as the second best height in the conference according to TFRRS.
