Swimming & Diving Adds Tomasz Rossa to Coaching Staff

Emory University Swimming & Diving Head Coach Jon Howell has announced the appointment of Tomasz Rossa to the coaching staff as the team's diving coach. Rossa joins the staff after a long-term career as a competitive springboard and platform diver turned professional performer.

A native of Warsaw, Poland, Rossa was a 10-time Polish National Champion on the springboard prior to joining the University of Iowa Swimming & Diving program and capturing three All-America honors with the Hawkeyes. His athletic prowess earned him a spot on the Olympic team roster in 1988 where he competed at the Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea.

Rossa continued to dive competitively until 1996 when he began a performance-based career with both Sea World Orlando and as an original cast member with the Cirque du Soleil "O" show in Las Vegas. In addition to his stints with those productions, Rossa was a member of the Creative team for three major aquatic shows: Le Reve, The House of Dancing Water and The Han Show in Wuhan, China where he was the head coach of production and operations.

To go along with his roles on the performance scene, Rossa has previously served as a volunteer assistant dive coach with the University of Iowa as well as the diving coach with Team Orlando. He is also a recognized specialist in Russian swing and aquatic high diving.

Rossa is set to begin his duties with the Eagles this month.
