Junior Richard Brereton returned to the mound this past week, tossing 5.2 scoreless innings against Birmingham-Southern and #17 Huntingdon. He escaped a bases loaded situation in the ninth on Tuesday to record the final two outs vs. BSC before spinning five shutout frames to earn the win against the Hawks on Saturday. He scattered four hits and one walk while striking out four. Brereton also continued to heat up at the plate, going 9-for-18 with two doubles, four runs, three stolen bases, a team-high six RBI and had a season-high four hits on Saturday at Huntingdon.
