Emory University pitcher Joey Bock was named the University Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week as announced early Monday afternoon. It is the first career weekly honor for the St. Louis, MO native.
Bock had another stellar relief outing for the Eagles last Tuesday, tossing four shutout innings with six strikeouts as he earned the win against Maryville. He allowed just two singles across his four frames and retired the final eight batters he faced.
For the season, Bock led the Eagles with four victories, going 4-0 with one save in six appearances. He struck out a team-high 27 batters in 24.2 innings and allowed just six earned runs all year for a 2.19 earned run average.
