Tyler McLoughlin

Tyler McLoughlin

Sophomore Tyler McLoughlin's made his first ever collegiate start against the Covenant Scots on Saturday and had an outstanding first showing. Lasting 4.0 innings in the seven inning game, McLoughlin gave up just two hits and no runs to earn his first ever win for the Eagles in the 12-1 demolition of the Scots. His 0.00 ERA leads all starting pitchers for Emory so far this season and the seven strikeouts he had are tied for the most by any Eagle pitcher. On top of his pitching prowess, McLoughlin was also in the rotation as a batter in three of Emory's four games this week. He had a batting average of .250 in 12 at-bats which was good for four RBI and two runs, highlighted by his two-run homerun in the top of the ninth inning against Covenant on Friday to give the Eagles an insurmountable 9-5 lead over the Scots.
