Freshman Matt Organisak was the Emory golf team's top performer at the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Fall Invitational. The 36-hole event was played at the 6,838-yard, par-72 Royal Lakes Golf Club in nearby Flowery Branch.
Organisak paced the Eagles' effort and finished fifth out of 102 players with a 36-hole score of four-under par 140. He fired back-to-back rounds of 70, and his final mark tied the program's fourth-best effort for a two-round tourney and tied him with Rod Olivero for the best Emory score recorded at the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Fall Invitational.
So far this year, Organisak has averaged 74.3 strokes over seven rounds of action.
Emory ranked 12th in the D-III ranks, returns to action, Oct. 9-11, when it competes at the Golfweek D-III Invitational.
