Emory Golf Stands Third At Royal Lakes-Oglethorpe Invitational

The No. 3-ranked Emory golf team holds down third place after the opening day of action at the Royal Lakes-Oglethorpe Fall Invitational.  The 36-hole event is being played at the 6,856-yard, par-72 Royal Lakes Golf Club in nearby Flowery Branch.

With inclement weather anticipated for Sunday, the 18-team field played 27 holes on Saturday, with the final nine slated to be completed on Sunday.

Emory stands at even par, trailing only Greensboro (-4) and North Carolina Wesleyan (-2).  Southwestern University and Carnegie Mellon are fourth and fifth at five- and six-over par, respectively.

Emory sophomore Matt Organisak is part of a four-way tie for first play at five-under par.  After carding a 71 over his opening 18 holes, Organisak went out with a fine four-under 32 on the first half of his last round.  Sophomore Sam Galloway is tied for 11th in the 102-player field at two under while senior Keenan Hickton finds himself 31st on the leader board at two-over par. Junior Connor Yaubov (five over par) and freshman Eric Yiu rounded out the Emory team scorers.  Junior Noah Apter, playing as an individual, stands at three under, good for a sixth-place tie.  Senior Sean Murphy (+1) and junior Stefano Butti (+8) are also taking part as individuals.
