Second Round Of Callaway Gardens Collegiate Invitational Rained Out -- Emory Finishes Fourth

The No. 5-ranked Emory University golf team's attempt to move up the leader board on the second day of action at the Callaway Gardens Intercollegiate Invitational was stymied by mother nature as rain forced the cancellation of the final 18 holes of play.

The Eagles ended up fourth out of 18 teams, registering a team score of 292. No 18 Oglethorpe University claimed the top spot with a three-under par 285, while No. 6 Methodist was second at 290 and LaGrange College third with a score of 291.

Emory sophomore Matt Organisak tied Corrie Kuehn of Rhodes College for medalist honors with each player carding three-under par scores of 69.  Junior Connor Yakubov tied for fifth position out of 102 players after shooting one-under 71.  Junior Anthony Muscato checked in with a 75 while senior Keenan Hickton and junior Stefano Butti each shot 77 on Monday.  Freshman Eric Yiu, playing as an individual, finished at one-under 71.  The trio of Organisak, Yakubov and Yiu earned all-tournament honors.

The tourney was being contested at the 6,934-yard, par-72 Mountain View Golf Course in Pine Mountain, Ga.

Emory will now gear up to defend its University Athletic Association championship, Mar. 12-13, at the Hammock Dunes Resort in Palm Coast, Florida.
