Team & Player Scores

The No. 1-ranked Emory University golf team used a strong second-round performance on Monday to hold down first place after the opening day of the Tartan Invitational.  The 54-hole event is being played at the 7,156-yard, par-72 Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. Serving as the host institution is Carnegie Melon University.

The Eagles pace the 12-team field with a score of 573.  After shooting a four-over par 292 over the opening 18 holes, Emory bounced back with a stellar effort of seven-under 281, tying the program's eighth-best 18-hole mark.  Wittenberg stands second at 579 (288-291) while Methodist is third with a mark of 592 (291-301).

Emory junior Matt Organisak sits atop the 60-player lead board with a four-under score of 140.  After shooting one-over 73 over his first 18 holes, Organisak came through with his first bogey-free round as an Eagle, tying his career best with a five-under 67, which saw him produce five birdies.  His 67 ties the top score by an Emory player this season and the fifth-best performance by an individual in school history. Heading into Tuesday's final round, Organisak is two shots ahead of Colin Laszlo of Wittenberg.

Freshman Logan Ryan finds himself tied for fourth place at even par 144, shooting two-over par 74 to start the day before shooting a two-under 70, that featured four birdies and a pair of bogeys. Junior Sam Galloway checked with a two-over 146 (73-73), good for a ninth-place tie, while sophomore Eric Yiu rebounded from a 79 in the first round with a 71 in the second to stand at 150, good for 20th place.  Senior Connor Yakubov was one of the team's scorers in the first round with an even-par 72 before registering an 80 over his next 18 holes.

The final round will be played on Tuesday.
