The No. 1-ranked Emory golf team closed out its participation at the Wynlakes Invitational on Tuesday.  The 36-hole tourney was played on the 6,979-yard, par-72 Wynlakes Golf and Country Club in Montgomery, Alabama.

The Eagles finished runner-up out of 15 teams, shooting a second-round score of one-under par 287 that left them with a two-day effort of 583, eight strokes off the pace of No. 2-ranked and host Huntingdon College (289-286—575). No. 7 Guilford College took home third place at 590 (296-294), while the Huntingdon 'B' Team (308-288—596) and Berry College (301-298—599) rounded out the top five.

Senior Connor Yakubov was Emory's top team performer on Tuesday, shooting a two-under par 70 that included birdies on Nos. 16, 17 and 18. It represented the eighth time this year in 19 rounds that he had shot par or better.  Junior Matt Organisak carded a one-under par 71 while Eric Yiu posted an even par 72.  Junior Sam Galloway rounded out the squad's scorers with a 74.  Freshman Logan Ryan checked in with a 79 while senior Anthony Muscato, playing as an individual, registered a two-under par 70.

For the tournament, both Organisak and Yiu tied for second in the 83-player field with a one-under effort of 143, just one shot off the pace from Huntingdon's Drew Mathers who played his way to medalist honors (73-69—142).  Galloway (148) and Yakubov (150) tied for 12th and 19th, respectively, while Ryan placed 53rd with a 158. Muscato's strong performance over the final round enabled him to finish 24th (81-70—151).
