The Emory University golf team opened its 2019-20 schedule on Saturday, playing 36 holes at the DIII Fall Preview.  The 54-hole tourney is being played on the 6,902-yard, par-72 PGA National Champions Course in Palm Beach Gardens Florida.

The Eagles, ranked No. 2 in the Bushnell Coaches Preseason Poll, stand second on the leader board out of 18 teams with a two-round score of 13-over par 589 (302-287), just two strokes off the pace from No. 1-ranked and defending NCAA Division III Champion Illinois Wesleyan (296-291).   Emory's second-round mark shaved 15 strokes off its opening 18-hole total and represented the top mark in the field.  Huntingdon College holds down third place at 602 (296-306) while St. Thomas (MN) and St. John's (MN) are deadlocked for fourth place with scores of 608.

Emory sophomore Max Schwarz paced the Emory contingent after two rounds and ranks sixth in the 90-player field with a one-over par 145 (73-72).  Senior Matt Organisak shrugged off an opening-round 77 and fired a three-under 69 during Saturday's second go-around, highlighted by a total of six birdies, to find himself seventh overall with an effort of two-over 146.  Junior Eric Yiu (76-73—149) finds himself 12th among the competitors while sophomore Logan Ryan (79-73—152) and Sam Galloway (76-77—153) are tied for 24th and 28th, respectively.

Jimmy Morton of Illinois Wesleyan sits atop the leader board at one-under 143.

The final 18 holes will be played on Sunday with Emory scheduled to tee off at 9:00 am.
