The Emory University men's 'B' side golf team concluded opening-round play on Monday at the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational. The 36-hole tourney is being played on the 6,758-yard, par-72 Stonebridge Golf Club in nearby Rome.
The Eagles finished with a first-day score of 14-over par 302, tying them with the Berry College 'B' Team for eighth place out of 19 schools. LaGrange College holds down the top spot after carding a three-under 285 while Huntingdon College is three shots off the pace.
Freshman Michael Rosenbloom shined for Emory, with his two-under par 70 placing second on the leader board out of 101 players. Rosenbloom was a model consistency, tallying four birdies with just one bogey on the day. Junior Davis Hingtgen was next up on the team's tally sheet with a one-over 73 tying for 14th overall. Leo Rich and Grant Drogosch rounded out the Eagles' scoring efforts with a 79 and 80, respectively.
Andrew Linkous of Walters State Community College leads the field after posting a 67.
