Ryan Earns Nod For UAA Men's Golf Honor

Emory sophomore Logan Ryan (Fort Wayne, IN) has been selected by the University Athletic Association as Men's Golfer of the Week following his performance at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial (October 28-29).  It is the first time this year and fourth in his career that he has been chosen for the honor.  The 36-hole Memorial was played on the 6,743-yard, par-71 The Cardinal by Pete Dye Course in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Ryan helped the Eagles to a first-place tie with Carnegie Mellon in the 22-team field (CMU prevailed in scorecard play - low aggregate of non-counting scores) with each squad posting a 36-hole score of seven-over par 575.

Ryan played his way to medalist honors in the 120-player field, firing a five-under par 137 (72-65) that tied the school record for the lowest score for a 36-hole tournament. Ryan's final-round mark of 65 established a program record, bettering the previous standard of 66 held by five different players. He totaled seven birdies during his historic round.

Ryan finished the fall averaging 72.4 strokes over 11 rounds of play, shooting or bettering par on four occasions.
