Five members of the 2019-20 Emory men's golf team have earned spots on the Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-Scholar Team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.  A total of 614 student-athletes from NCAA Divisions I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA were recognized for their excellence on the course and in the classroom, with D-III boasting 118 honorees.

The Emory representatives on the All-Scholar Team included recent graduates Matt Organisak (Sudbury, MA) and Sam Galloway (Neenah, WI), junior Eric Yiu (Shenzhen, Guandong, China), and sophomores Logan Ryan (Fort Wayne, IN) and Max Schwarz (Paradise Valley, AZ).

An All-American for the fourth straight year, Organisak paced the team in scoring average with a mark of 71.8 strokes over 14 rounds of play. The squad's co-leader with eight rounds of par or better, his top efforts during the campaign were a pair of 68 at the Gordin Collegiate Classic and the Golfweek Fall Preview.  He concluded his Emory career in the No. 2 spot on the school's career chart in scoring average, posting a mark of 73.04 strokes over 86 rounds of play.  A Quantitative Sciences major, he compiled a grade-point average of 3.52.

Galloway competed in all five of the team's tournaments during the shortened season and averaged 73.2 strokes per round. Third on the Emory score sheet with six rounds or better to his credit, he tied  Eric Yiu for the team lead and finished tied for 10th out of 90 players at the Savannah Invitational with a score of 210 (69-72-69), tying the school's fourth-best mark for a 54-hole tournament. Chosen as an Emory 100 Senior Honorary, he posted a GPA of 3.75 as a Business Administration major. Career-wise, he stands sixth on the program's all-time scoring average chart (74.56 spr).

A PING Honorable Mention All-American for a second straight season, Yiu finished No. 3 on the team's scoring ladder with an average of 72.1 strokes.  The owner of five rounds of par or better, he was the Eagles' top performer and tied for third out of 90 competitors at the DIII Fall Preview, which resulted in him earning UAA Player of the Week recognition. A double major in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, Yiu sports a GPA of 3.70.  He will head into his senior season third in all-time scoring average at Emory (73.98 spr).

Ryan brought home PING Second Team All-America acclaim, carding an average of 72.4 strokes over 14 rounds.  He captured medalist honors out of 120 players at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial (Oct. 28-29) with a five-under par 137 that tied the program record for the best mark in a 36-hole tournament.  His second-round 65 at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial established a school record for the best 18-hole score. Ryan dialed up five rounds of par or better including a five-under 67 at the Savannah Invitational.  Ryan earned his spot on the All-Scholar Team with a GPA of 3.70 in his Business Administration major. After two years as an Eagle, he sits in the No. 1 position on the school's career scoring average list (72.97 spr).

As a first-year member of the playing group, Schwarz was lauded with Second Team All-America kudos, closing out the season second on the club with an average of 71.9 strokes over 14 rounds. He co-tied for the team lead with eight rounds of par or better with his  best performance a three-under 68 at the Golfweek Fall Preview.  He is a 4.00 student and majors in Business Administration.

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a sophomore (first year sophomores have been eligible), junior or senior.  In addition, they must have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 78.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. For 2019-20 only, they must participate in 40% of the team's competitive rounds.
