The No. 4-ranked Emory men's golf team has completed the first round of the Wynlakes Invitational. The 36-hole competition is being played at the 6,979-yard, par-72 Wynlakes Golf and Country Club in Montgomery, Alabama

The Eagles stand sixth out of 15 teams after the opening 18 holes, registering a team score of 297.  No. 6 Piedmont sits atop the leader board at 281, one shot ahead of No. 1 Guilford.  The Tartans of No. 4 Carnegie Mellon hold down third place (287) while the Huntingdon College 'B' Team (294) and first side (296) are fourth and fifth, respectively.

Senior Davis Hingtgen was Emory's top scorer on the day, firing an even-par 72, good for a 12th-place tie in the 60-player field.  Hingtgen was steady all throughout the round, logging a tourney-best tying 16 pars. Junior Max Schwarz carded a 73 and finds himself tied for 19th.   Junior Logan Ryan finished with a 75 that was highlighted by an eagle on the 548-yard, par-5 16th hole, while sophomore Grant Drogosch rounded out the team's scoring effort at 77.  Freshman Logan Lowery shot a 79.

James Mishoe of Guilford College turned in the top score of the day with a five-under 67.

The final round of the Wynlakes Invitational will be held on Tuesday.
