The Emory men's golf team closed out its season Friday by competing in the final round of the NCAA D-III Championships.  This year's Championships were held at the Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Playing on the 6,857-yard, par 71 Jones Course, the Eagles posted a score of 301, leaving them with a 72-hole total of 1187, good for sixth place out of the remaining 18 teams competing over the final 36 holes. Illinois Wesleyan captured the team title at 1155 (290-286-287-292), 13 strokes ahead of Methodist University (300-281-297-290-1168).  Guilford College ranked third with a mark of 1179 (302-286-295-296) while Carnegie Mellon (1184) and Huntingdon College (1186) were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Junior Max Schwarz and Davis Hingtgen turned in Emory's best score of the afternoon with each player carding a two-over par 74.  Hingtgen recorded three birdies during his round while Schwarz logged a pair. Freshman Logan Lowery shot a 76 while sophomore Grant Drogosch was the Eagles' final scorer, ending with a 77.  Junior Logan Ryan shot an 83.

For the tournament, Hingtgen tied for 23rd place with a four-round score of  297 (72-74-77-74). Schwarz's total of 298 (73-79-72-74) tied for 26th while Drogosch placed 40th at 302 (85-71-69-77).  Lowery and Ryan finished at 309 and 311, respectively.

Will Hocker of Webster University claimed individual medalist honors with a showing of two-over par 285.
