Max Schwarz & Davis Hingtgen Capture PING All-America Honors

2021 PING All-America Release

Two members of the Emory University men's golf squad have been recognized for their fine 2021 seasons with berths on the Division III Ping All-America Team.

Max Schwarz (Paradise Valley, AZ) was one of nine players to be selected to the first team while Davis Hingtgen (Orlando, FL) landed an honorable-mention berth.

Schwarz topped the team with an average of 72.5 strokes over 14 rounds.  Schwarz notched a team-high six rounds of par or better including a career-best mark of four-under par 68 over the final 18 holes at the Hampden-Sydney Tiger Invitational, which helped him tie for medalist honors. In addition to his effort at the Tiger Invitational, Schwarz was the Eagles' top finisher and tied for second in a 133-player field at the Jekyll Island Invitational, carding a 54-hole mark of 212 (70-70-72) that tied the program's 11th-best showing for a three-round event while tying the school's second-best mark at the Invitational. He is just the fourth Emory golfer to garner First Team All-America acclaim, joining Lee Palms (1991), Mike Lebow (2006) and Ryan Dagerman (2012) in that exclusive club.

Seeing action in all 14 Emory's rounds, Hingtgen averaged 74.4 strokes per outing and placed second on the team's scoresheet with four rounds of par or better. He was the Eagles' top scorer and ninth overall at the Wynlakes Intercollegiate and the NCAA D-III Championships with his 72-hole score of 297 placing 23rd on the leader board out of the 96 entries who played all four rounds (191 started out).

Emory ended the regular season ranked fourth in the Bushnell Golfweek DIII Coaches Poll and posted a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
