Men's Golf in Seventh Following Day Two of NCAA Championships

The Emory University men's golf team advanced to the third round of the NCAA DIII Golf Championships finishing in seventh place after two rounds.

The No. 2 ranked Eagles finished the second round in seventh place with a day two score of 303 bringing their two day total to 599 (296-303). The field was cut to the top 18 teams from 43 as well as the top six individuals not on one of those teams after the completion of the second round of play. Emory is second in the field in total pars accumulating 27 over the first two days of competition. No. 1 ranked Methodist sits in first place with a 36-hole total of 581 (292-289) while No. 6 ranked Carnegie Mellon sits six strokes back in silver medal position posting a two-day total of 587 (288-299).

Leading the Eagles in scoring for the second round was freshman Tony Li who registered a 75 to bring his 36-hole total to 151 (76-75) where he sits in a tie for 35th. Seniors Max Schwarz and Davis Hingtgen are tied with Li in 35th position as they each carded a five-over 76 Wednesday afternoon. Junior Jackson Klutznick is the Eagles leading scorer after the first two rounds of the championships with a total of 148 (72-76) which sees him tied for 20th. Rounding out scoring for the Eagles was senior Logan Ryan who registered a 78 in the second round to bring his total score to 152 (74-78) and tied for 48th.

The Eagles will look to work their way back into contention tomorrow morning when they tee off in the third round.
