Emory's Adam Gigax Earns NABC & D3hoops.com Honors

Emory University junior Adam Gigax was recognized for his outstanding 2016-17 campaign by both the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and D3hoops.com, earning postseason honors by both entities.

The 6-foot-7 Gigax was selected as a First Team All-South Region honoree by D3hoops.com while garnering Second Team All-South District accolades by the NABC.

A starter in all 27 games, Gigax helped Emory to an overall record of 19-8 by pacing the squad and tying for the top spot on the University Athletic Association scoring ladder with an 18.3 points-per-game average, good for 10th place on the Eagles' seasonal chart, while his 18.4 per-game effort in conference tilts stood second among league performers.  A double-figure scorer on 21 occasions during the campaign,  he registered 13 outings of 20 or more points.  A First Team All-UAA pick for the second straight year, he ranked as Emory's leading scorer in 14 contests.  He knocked down 80 three-point field goals, the program's second-highest seasonal mark, and his average of 2.96 treys per contest ranked among the top 50 in all of the D-III ranks.

Named the UAA Player of the Week three times (Nov. 21, Jan. 23 & Jan. 30), Gigax's 494 total points represented the fourth-highest individual total in school history and were the most turned in by an Emory junior. He finished second in the league with an 84.7 percent (72 of 85) showing in free throw shooting.
