The Emory men's basketball team opened its tour of Italy on a positive note Friday evening, defeating an all-star team from Rome. 

The Eagles posted a 100-71 victory and were led in scoring by Gebereal Baitey and Beau Bommarito, both of whom totaled 23 points.  Adam Gigax chipped in 19 points while Chris Avant added 16 points.

Emory held a 48-37 edge at halftime before outscoring its opponent by a 52-34 margin over the final two quarters. 

The Eagles were scheduled to play their second of three Italian contests on Sunday evening.
