Matt Davet

Matt Davet

Freshman Matt Davet paced the Emory men's basketball team in scoring in the squad's season finale at Rochester.

Davet came off the bench and totaled 16 points in 18 minutes of action, concluding the game sinking six-of-nine field goal attempts, including a pair of triples, and both of his free throw opportunities. It represented his 11th double-figure scoring performance of the season and the fourth occasion that he ranked as the club's top point producer. In addition, he came up with a big blocked shot with 1:24 on the clock with Emory holding a 65-61 lead. On the ensuing possession, he grabbed an offensive rebound, one of his five for the afternoon, and was fouled, whereupon he converted a pair of charity tosses, extending Emory's lead to 67-61 with 52 ticks on the clock.

Davet has seen action as a reserve in all 25 games and is averaging 8.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per outing. He is third on the team with 36 three-point field goals and is hitting at a 36.8 percent clip (35-95) from beyond the arc.
