Adam Gigax

Emory senior Adam Gigax helped the Emory men's basketball team to a pair of victories at the Emory Classic.

The 6-foot-7 Gigax averaged 18.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in games vs. Illinois Wesleyan and Transylvania University. In addition, he connected on 50 percent (10-20) of his field goal and three-point (6-12) attempts and knocked down all 10 of his free throw opportunities.

In a 72-56 verdict over Illinois Wesleyan, Gigax topped the Eagles' scoring attack, racking up a season-high 21 points, converting six-of-11 from the floor and four-of-seven from beyond the arc. The following day in an 87-83 triumph vs. Transylvania, he pumped in 15 points, second high on the team, hitting four field goals in nine tries, including a pair of triples, and going five-for-five at the stripe for the second straight game. In the TU outing, he became the 15th player in program history to reach the 1,000 career-point plateau.

Gigax has scored in double figures in all nine games this year and he stands seventh on the conference scoring ladder with a 15.7 points-per-game average. He has hit two or more three-point field goals in all nine of his appearances and he is fourth among UAA cagers with a 45.9 percent (28-61) mark from beyond the arc.
